We’ll be the first to say it: EPCOT is BIG. Like, “Oh my goodness, how many more countries are there?” big.
One way to shorten your trip around the world is to use Disney’s transportation. No, there’s no secret monorail or Skyliner inside EPCOT that will take you to where you need to go, but throughout the World Showcase Lagoon, there are boats called the FriendShip Boats to help you get across EPCOT. Lately, we’ve noticed something is a little different about them.
There are usually a few routes between different countries in the World Showcase, like Germany, Morocco, Canada, and Mexico. Currently, the routes have changed, and now they go from Germany to Canada.
We’re not sure how long this route will be running for, but a few docks are currently closed, including the Morocco dock.
What are your other options if other boat routes are closed? Well, even though the World Showcase is 1.2 miles with 11 countries, making it a huge area to walk around, besides the Germany to Canada boat route, you might need to walk all the way through.
We know that can make your park day feel longer, especially if you weren’t planning on making it all around the countries, but there’s a lot to discover in each pavilion, along with snacks to try. With the route change, it might be a great opportunity to take things slowly through each country and experience everything they have to offer.
There’s also an entrance in the back of EPCOT that can help you get to your destination faster, too. International Gateway will let you enter right by the France Pavilion (Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, anyone?). If you’re staying at an EPCOT area resort or using the Skyliner, this entrance can help limit your time walking around the world.
We’re going to be keeping a watchful eye over the FriendShip Boat to see when docks are reopening or routes are changing, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for everything you need to know for your Disney World trip.
WE’VE EATEN AT EVERY EPCOT RESTAURANT. THESE ARE THE BEST.

I love a boat. The Monorail is great, the Skyliner is great, even the buses are good (if you know how to plan for them) but if there’s a boat available, that’s what I’m taking.
